Eat Salmon Goes To Dutch Harbor!

May 18, 2005

Sure, we've been sending our Eat Salmon shirts to points
all over the globe, but I had to smile when we got the
order for a couple shirts to be sent up to Dutch Harbor in
Alaska. If you haven't seen the show on the Discovery
Channel called "Deadliest Catch", you really should check
it out.
I believe it was last year when I happened to catch the
first show. A documentary about the Deadliest Job In the
World, which according to the Discovery Channel is crab
fishing. After you see the show, you'll have new found
respect about how crabs are harvested.
Turns out, all the boats head to Dutch Harbor on the
edge
of the Bering Sea, before sailing out to their favorite
fishing grounds.
And where you might ask is Dutch Harbor? According to
my USA map on the wall, it's in that little box tucked
under Alaska. That's right. The port is so far off the
map, they have to give it it's own box! I am very honored
to know that a few of our Eat Salmon shirts will be walking
the docks in Dutch Harbor! I'm hoping Tom will send me a
few photos from the Great White North to add to our photo
page. Check back.
